Trading Aaron Hill while value remains high

Postby mlymon77 » Sun Jul 01, 2012 11:23 am

It makes sense to me to trade Aaron Hill while he seems to be overachieving. In one of my leagues (H2H points), I'm trying to trade for a more solid 2nd baseman. Here was my thought:

Aaron Hill (68% owned, 195.50 pts)
Felix Doubront (48% owned, 152.23 pts)
-for-
Dustin Pedroia (98% owned, 159 pts)
Bruce Chen (9% owned, 127.83 pts)

I'm still pretty new to fantasy baseball, and don't always know whether I'm offering too much or too little. Could someone please offer some advice? If it helps, here's my roster:

(C) Yadier Molina
(1B) Eric Hosmer
(2B) Aaron Hill
(3B) Brett Lawrie
(SS) Asdrubal Cabrera
(LF) Nelson Cruz
(CF) Melky Cabrera
(RF) Hunter Pence
(Util) Carlos Ruiz
(BN) Michael Young

(SP) Justin Verlander
(SP) Gio Gonzalez
(SP) Matt Harrison
(RP) Felix Doubront
(RP) Jose Quintana
(P) Ian Kennedy
(P) Wandy Rodriguez
(P) Vance Worley
(BN) Ervin Santana
(BN) Roy Oswalt
(BN) Matt Moore
(BN) Trevor Bauer

Thanks!!

If I was the guy with Pedroia I wouldn't do that. Doubront sucks so he is a moot point. The only thing he has going for him is his offense behind him to get him wins with 6 ERs...You could offer Hill and maybe Worley for just Pedroia but I still don't think he'd bite it, unless his pitching sucks.

Help on mine?

Thanks for the response. And one other question. I've been pretty happy with Jose Quintana's performance so far. And I've read many articles that say he's the real deal. But in another league of mine, I've been offered a trade from a team who is in desperate need for a pitcher who can fill one of his RP spots. The trade offer is:

He gets: (1B) Freddie Freeman
(SP, RP) Jose Quintana

I get: (1B) Albert Pujols

I don't know too much about Quintana's potential. Can someone help me determine whether or not to take the trade?

Take it in a heartbeat. Don't care about Quintina's potential.
