You have a similar problem to mine...that is, lots of good free agents that you'd love to have, but no room for them on your roster. I agree that you need to upgrade your pitching staff, but I would not drop anyone for Cashner. If I had your team, I believe that I would try to package a couple of your pitchers for an upgrade, if possible. The problem with that, of course, is that you're probably selling low on your guys. I have Gallardo, too, and although he's underperformed his averages, it's not like he's horrible. I think there's a good chance he'll at least pitch up to norms the rest of the way. But you won't get that price for him, you'll get a price based on his performance so far this season.
If anything, maybe you could package Gallardo and Latos and get someone like Weaver. If the Weaver owner needs depth and maybe is feeling desperate, that might work. If you get an acceptable two-for-one, then rush out and grab Cashner.
Regardless of how you approach it, SP needs to be the area you work to improve...
