Dynasty Blockbuster - Trout and Lawrie!

Postby Adelais » Sat Jun 30, 2012 1:53 am

I'm so so so sorry for posting so many different topics (all including Kinsler, bahaha) the past few days, but I'm winding down my trade offers and am trying to make one last trade to fill up holes in my team. So...I'm in a 12-team H2H Dynasty league (although this first year is only keep 12). My team is as follows (italics are players I'm planning on keeping):

C: Posey
1B: Votto
2B: Kinsler
3B: Johnson
SS: Furcal
OF: Trout
OF: Kubel
OF: Willingham
Util: Hart
Util: Swisher
BN: Altuve
BN: Scutaro
BN: Machado

SP: Bumgarner
SP: C.J. Wilson
RP: Papelbon
RP: Hanrahan
P: Nathan
P: Zimmermann
P: Capuano
P: Cashner
BN: Beckett
BN: Oswalt
BN: Billingsley
BN: Shelby Miller
DL: Feliz
DL: Dempster

The trade this guy and I have been discussing, is as follows:

I give: Trout, Kinsler & Drop: Scutaro
I get: Lawrie, J-Upton, and Cuddyer

He has expressed interest although I don't know if he'll actually accept, but IF he does, is this a good trade for me to make? I believe that it helps solve a lot of my teams problems, and provided Upton gets back to his old self, I really won't be losing anything. Lawrie is nearly as young as Trout and at a much scarcer position.

What do you think? And I swear if this trade goes through, I'll stop posting Kinsler trades, lol. Thanks for your help!

It's closer than some might say, but I still wouldn't do this deal. At this point, I'd rather have Trout than Upton, and while I see the draw of Lawrie down the road I'd still rather have Kinsler for the foreseeable future. The Rockies guys involved don't even matter to the deal(s) to me, and since I'd make someone pay an absolute premium to get Trout at this point I just don't think it's enough to do this.

I would not make the trade. Trout is a fantasy superstar and is only a rookie. He will carry your team for several years. Upton and Lawrie are very good keeper players but Trout is at another level.
