NOTE: I have an empty roster spot after dropping Andy Pettite...weighing some FA options now. If he clears waivers, I will probably add Jesus Montero.

This trade was just offered to me:
I give: Buster Posey
I get: Carlos Santana, Edwin Jackson

If I accept the offer, since I have an empty spot I wouldn't have to drop anybody. This guy has previously sent me several (terrible) offers for Mike Trout.

I'm thinking no to this one right? Should I counter with maybe a package of Posey and Trout for Santana + another one of his pitchers? Here are some of the options on his team:
James McDonald
Tommy Hanson
Max Scherzer
Huston Street
Chris Perez
Ernesto Frieri
Justin Masterson
Matt Cain
Cole Hamels
Gio Gonzalez
Jose Valverde
Jeremy Hellickson
Mark Buerhle

Maybe Trout+Posey for Santana+Gio?

I see no point to make this trade for you. Your pitching is excellent, or at least can be solid enough without the need for Jackson. He'll have to pony up a better pitcher/option to give up Posey.

Hmmm...actually, I don't hate it. Going into the season I had Carlos Santana as my top-rated C. So, to land him and an arm doesn't suck to me. Granted Posey's been very good and Santana hasn't.

I'm holding onto Trout if I'm you...unless it's an absolute no-brainer. Yes, Gio or Cain's tempting - but - I'm taking a stud bat over a stud arm just about any day.

I'd try something crazy like Posey-Lincecum-Matt Moore - FOR - Santana-Gio-Cain. Maybe he'll get caught-up in the big name of Timmy and the big potential of Moore and, clearly he likes Posey a lot, so that could help. I love Santana...big Cain guy...and if Gio can harness his control a bit more, he'll be a freaking beast.

That's a pipe dream deal, I know...lol.

Anyway, find a way to get Santana and Gio or Cain for Posey and a lesser arm and I'd be all over it.
