Trade Beachy??? WHIR

Of course as soon as I got Petitte, DL. My luck all year. I am down to 6 pitchers, and we start 6, so i am stuck with Volquez and the like. I would like to know first if i should get rid of Beachy, and if so, whom to get. I would trade him for a crap pitcher and a waiver, drop the crap pitcher and use the waiver. My choices are:

1) Scott Diamond
2) Jarrod Parker
3) Clayton Richard
4) Michael Fiers

How many guys do you keep? I think I would consider dealing Beachy for Parker, depending on your answer, but I really don' t think I'd mess around with Beachy for the others, especially if the keeper numbers are pretty healthy.

We keep 10-12 players (our choice) with a salary cap of $130. The waiver is salaried at $7, all salaries go up $2 each year

Parker is the only one on that list I would trade Beachy for without knowing the contracts. Keep in mind Beachy had his TJ a couple months into the season so he probably won't be back until June 2013. Richard is a decent option if you don't want to take the deadweight of Beach's contract for that long. Keep shopping if you can't get Parker, you should be able to do better off a team that is playing for next year.

No no no .... those 4 guys are on WAIVER ... I will trade for Joe Schmo + a waiver pick, drop Joe Schmo and pick up one of those 4. All 4 are $7 each....

Oh...you have to actually trade for a waiver pick? Weird. I'd do whatever if it means you get Parker.

I have one waiver pick left, but I usually save it for a major injury, such as Miggy, Bautista, etc

Agreed on Parker for Beachy in this case. If you still wish to compete and don't wish to wait on Beachy for 1+ years (given recovery time, rust, etc) then make the move. No chance to get a non-shlub back, eh?
