Johan and Broxton for Panda - Beachy help!

Postby JoshuaHavok » Tue Jun 26, 2012 1:54 pm

I just got offered Johan Santana and J. Broxton for Pablo Sandoval and Gavin floyd. I need a little help in pitching since Beachy went for Tommy john. I'm punting saves, but i do have kimbrel, so with the addition of broxton and a RP from the wire, I could get back into it. I have wright at my thrid position, and have Rizzo, Pablo and Goldschmidt competing for my CI so I can afford to lose him. I have been considering dropping Gavin as I want to pick up Chris Carpenter off the wire.

Also, do you think Beachy is worth holding onto, since its a keeper (only keep 12 though) and hell be out till mid season next year?

I'm in a 10 team Head-to-head KEEPER (keep 12 of 24) league with 9 hit stats(R, H,HR, RBI,SB,BB, AVG,OPS, XBH) & 8 pitch stats (W, CG, SV, K, GIDP, ERA, WHIP, QS). We are allowed 30 moves and 2 DL spots

This is my team:
C - Joe Mauer
1B - Joey Votto
2B - Jason Kipnis
3B - David Wright
SS - Jimmy Rollins
CI - Pablo Sandoval
MI - Ian Desmond
LF - Ryan Braun
CF - Andrew McCutchen
RF - Jay Bruce
Util- Micheal Bourn
BN - Paul Goldschmidt
BN - Anthony Rizzo
BN - Chase Utley (DL)

SP - Dan Haren
SP - Max Scherzer
SP - Vance Worley
RP - Craig Kimbrel

P - Anibal Sanchez
BN - Hiroki Kuroda

I think your offense is strong and you can afford to swing out an underperforming Panda to obtain help in Pitching. As far as holding onto Beachy I would hang onto him, unless you have more lucrative "meat" on the waiver wire you can obtain with high upside.

good luck

In a keeper, you could get King's Ransom for Rizzo right now. See what kind of pitching he could net you. I would not advise trading Panda for that offer. What happens when Johan's shoulder explodes again and Broxton gets traded into a setup role? Panda is not under producing, He just had HAND SURGERY. He's still hitting the ball well. The power will come soon. He should be considered a top 3B option for the 2nd half.
