10 team 5x5 weekly H2H keeper. We can keep up to 6 at cost.
I give Tulo($47) and Rizzo($5) for Hosmer($10).
I'm in first by 25 games, and the regular season champ gets % 60 of the money in this league. Obviously Tulo is unkeepable at that price, and being out until August something, he really isn't going to do much for me in winning the regular season. Who knows what Rizzo will do coming up, he didn't exactly tear it up in his first shot. I am biased towards Hosmer, but I'm hesitant to believe in him enough to make this deal. What do you guys think? It's low risk with a possibly good reward of solid production now and possible keeper.
You'd love to have Tulo as he tears it up in the fall... But this health aspect makes this very attractive.... I actually think I take ths and hopefully th extra cap space can help you along the way as well. The one time I might not make this is if the Tulo recipient is sitting right behind.. This would be a small distractant though.
Not easy but good luck.

I suppose it depends on who you've got at SS right now.
Tulo back in time for your playoffs is more valuable than Hosmer as a keeper.. I'm actually pretty down on Hosmer. I guess it depends on if you think Hosmer will help you more this season, and as a possible keeper than Tulo in the short time you'll have him when he gets back.
Who do you have at 1B, or UT? Is Hosmer an upgrade anywhere on your team?
If not, I say stand pat and enjoy Tulo during the playoffs.. the last time Tulo was injured and returned in August, he set records, a couple of years ago.
I would stick with what you have. I am not high on Hosmer, and think Rizzo can have a much better showing the second time around than he did the first time.
"One of the teams represents truth, justice, the American way, and underdogs everywhere. The other represents George Steinbrenner!" - U.S. News and World Reports columnist John Leo on the difference between the Mets and the Yankees.
This is very close. I say you hold onto Tulo unless you got lucky with a venerable replacement from the WW. Hosmer as a cheap keeper sounds enticing. Getting Tulo back for what looks like a title run? Even more enticing. Go for the title this year
Hosmer would fight with Rios/Belt/A-Jax for my last starting spot. His value is if he gets hot as a replacement for one of those 3, or if an injury strikes I have no one on the bench, and as a cheap keeper.

Not worth the impact Tulo could have when he's back.
When he gets back, we will be at most 2 weeks from the playoffs and possibly at the start of the playoffs. I care most about regular season. My league pays 60% to the regular season champ, and that also carries the honor of League Champ. We only do playoffs for spice at seasons end. I may be just blinded by liking Hosmer, but 4-6 weeks of Tulo doesn't seem to be worth 3 months of Hosmer plus a possible keeper if he turns it around.

But you said yourself Hosmer would basically just be a backup, and an "incase of injury" guy.
For a guy who has been entirely unimpressive all year long, that's not really worth it. I mean, I don't know about your league, but you could likely pick up the same type of production off the waiver wire.
