Hosmer=Bum...ready to drop him...talk me out of it! WHIR!

Postby WhipperSnappers44 » Sun Jun 24, 2012 7:01 am

Hey all....so I am deathly sick of Hosmer and he does me no good sitting there not playing and/or not producing....am I crazy for dropping him or should I just stay put and wait a little longer?

There are a few guys sitting on the WW that I prefer right now and am anxious to grab them before someone else does....

I'm in a 12 team H2H league ("Non-Keeper") 10 CAT.....I am currently in 1st but see my guys slipping lately. Any help will be appreciated and I will help you if needed!

Some guys on my radar are: J.Kubel (hitting like crazy right now), B.Harper (had him, dropped him, had him again and dropped him again...been cold but...), R.Zimmerman (been cold and someone just dropped him so he doesn't clear waivers for a couple days but...), D.Fowler, J.Lowrie, J.Salty, J.Montero, K.Youklis, D.Viciedo (hot again or not again?), M.Saunder's, W.Rosario, R.Ibanez....

Pitching: J.Beckett, C.Buchholz, E.Santana, D.Holland(DL), T.Lilly(DL), J.Samardzija, F.Doubront, J.Neise, D.Storen(DL-RP), R.Cook(RP), C.Marmol(RP)

So there it is.....really looking at J.Kubel hard though....

My Team:

C - C.Santana
1B - Miggy Cabrera
2B - B.Zobrist
3B - E.Encarnacion
SS - I. Desmond
OF - C.Granderson
OF - H.Pence
OF - A.Jackson
Uti - M.Teixiera
Uti - S.Victorino
Bench - T.Plouffe
Bench - A.Craig
Bench - E.Hosmer
Bench - J.Altuve

Pitching:

G.Gonzalez(SP)
R.A. Dickey(SP)
A.Sanchez(SP)
AJ Burnett(SP)
T.Hanson(SP)
P.Hughes(SP)
S.Casilla (RP)
J.Johnson(RP)
F.Rodney(RP)

What kind of league has Harper on the waiver wire?

I'd hang on to Hosmer, though. It can only get better from here.

I asked myself the same question over and over again but just like me I guess they hate the funk he is in right now....

So anyone else I can drop for Kubel? or Harper? (Plouffe? Hosmer...arrgghhh...lol?)

Txs again for the help! 100% WHIR!

Some nice names on the FA list, so I agree with your assessment. While I'm inclined to hold on to Hosmer (as I think he will turn it around in the 2nd half) I'd drop Plouffe. He's been great, but I don't see him keeping it up.

Personally, I'd add Harper, but I couldn't fault you if you went for Kubel instead.

Thoughts on mine?

I'd hold on to Hosmer as well. Really though, I think you have too much hitting on your bench. Looking at your roster, it's hard to see you plugging any of those FA names into your starting line up. Your outfield is great. I'd be looking at trying to trade some of that depth for another good pitcher if I were you. Package Plouffe (before he cools off) with Victorino in a 2 for 1, get another really good arm, and then use the open roster spot to pick up Harper.

With all that talent on your wire, you can wait out with Hosmer. I'd still consider Plouffe for Harper.

Keep Hosmer. Think Dan Uggla this time last year...he was terrible and went off. Hosmer can do that any day.

I doubt you'll find someone with more upside. If you have a bench spot just keep him there until he heats up.

Hosmer finally started to show some life until this idiot KC coach decided to bench him 3 days in a row while playing in the NL. Be patient.

Txs for the replies (I think I got all the replies back....lol)

I went ahead and dropped P.Hughes for J.Kubel......I know I don't really need anymore offense right now but I had to do it since Kubel hit another HR today and I just couldn't stand it if someone else grabbed him while I sit and watch...lol

I figure while grabbing him then in the meantime I can try and put together a trade for a top SP. Was thinking of pairing either Victorino+Hosmer or Victorino+Plouffe for a top SP (any thoughts on that and maybe the type of SP I should target?)....and then I can use the extra spot (from the 2 for 1) to go out and grab an SP off the WW (say P.Hughes again when he clears waivers or C.Buchholz or someone since there are a few arms out there)....or I can even grab Haper as well...

Any thoughts on this plan? What should I do? Who should I trade? Who should I ask for in return? (Hate to trade Plouffe since he carries so many CATS and also just hit another HR today so the resurgence might be coming back!!!)

Txs again everyone for the help! and as always I will help you if needed!
