12 team H2H weekly keeper league. (Cats: R, 1B, 2B, 3B, HR, K, BB, SB, CS, RBI, HBP, SAC, CYC, GSHR; W, L, K,BB, ER,IP, H, PKO, SV, BL, CG, SHO, PG, NH, HB; No IP limit, no acquisition limit)
I have seven Pitcher slots and one Relief Pitcher spot. I always run 5 starters out there (Wainwright, Hernandez, Darvish, Anibal, Pettitte) and have three spots for closers. However, I have 5 closers currently on my roster; Chapman, Cook, Nathan, Wilhelmsen, and Perkins. I will probably always start Aroldis and Nathan, which gives one spot for the other three. who do I start? Perkins may only be closer for a short time, so I may want to avoid him until Matt Capps gets hurt/traded. Right now, Cook is occupying that slot and has been really good. Wilhelmsen meanwhile may lose his job for a short time since the Ms seem determined to trade Brandon League, but he's on fire right now. So, who do I start this week?
In the same league, I own Anibal Sanchez. Recently, he's been bad; only one QS in his last 4 and hasn't gone 7 innings in any of them, nor has he gotten a win. Following Matthew Berry's concept of the Wandy line, I always start Anibal as he is always a reliable source of Ks and ERA. After his last blowup pretty much lost me this week however, I feel I should bench him. He gets STL at home next, not great for a guy who struggles at home. Should I bench him? Should I trade him for another pitcher? What should I do?
