Kevin Youkilis...worth an add? WHIR

Postby mcmbpd » Thu Jun 21, 2012 12:32 am

was finally dropped in my league after his ongoing poor performance in 2012. His time in Boston is clearly over and I have to think that some of the reason for his bad season has been seeing that his time in Beantown is coming to an end an he's going to be raplced by the younger/better Middlebrooks. My question is, do you think he will rebound once traded to either the Indians, Pirates, White Sox ect? Here's a guy who normally hits around .300, 20+ HRs, and about 80 RBIs. Even at 33 I have to think that he could still be useful for fantasy purposes. Do you think he's primed for a big 2nd half? or should I just leave him on the waiver wire and give up on him like the Red Sox have? If you think he's worth an add who would you drop for him? Thanks and leave ur links

I could see dropping Kendrick for him, but I wouldn't expect a whole lot out of him....... If he is traded is it going to be to a team with a better line up then Boston? Don't think so. He can't stay healthy and his numbers have been steadily declining. I wouldn't waste a Waiver on him unless I had a really low, like the last waiver spot, then there is no risk. I would bet he clears.

I think he will be doing better. Although, if he does get traded (which the Red Sox should do) he'll lose out on a ton of RBI and R chances.

He's really struggling but Kendrick isn't doing much either, so with higher upside for Youklis, I'd make the move.

id rather hold onto Kendrick (who is struggling too)

But if you have a good feeling about Youk I think kendrick might sit on FA to pick back up if needed I guess?

I think best chance for a Youk spark is a trade waking him up, and thats not guaranteed since thats an intagible 9the new team effect)

He just got traded to the White Sox if that helps in your decision.
