HELP! How would you improve this team?

Postby Rob75 » Sat Apr 03, 2004 1:04 pm

I am in a 10 team 5x5 roto league. I have a great team but there are a lot of good guys on the wire. What moves would you make to improve this team?
My batters:

C M. LeCroy (Min - C,1B,DH)
1B A. Huff (TB - 1B,RF,DH)
2B M. Giles (Atl - 2B)
3B M. Cabrera (Fla - 3B,LF)
SS É. Rentería (StL - SS)
OF C. Beltrán (KC - CF)
OF V. Guerrero (Ana - RF)
OF L. Berkman (Hou - LF)
Util B. Giles (SD - LF,CF)

My Pitchers:
SP J. Schmidt (SF - SP)
SP B. Zito (Oak - SP)
RP J. Nathan (Min - RP)
RP A. Rhodes (Oak - RP)
P D. Kolb (Mil - RP)
P D. Graves (Cin - SP)
P J. Contreras (NYY - SP,RP)
BN F. Cordero (Tex - RP)
BN J. Santana (Min - SP,RP)
BN M. Clement (ChC - SP)
BN B. Webb (Ari - SP)
BN H. Nomo (LA - SP)

here are the Free Agents that I have my eye on.
Batters:
B. Williams (NYY - CF)
C. Floyd
D. Erstad (Ana - CF)
E. Durazo (Oak - 1B,DH)
E. Hinske (Tor - 3B)
M. Ensberg (Hou - 3B)
V. Castilla (Col - 3B)
R. Klesko (SD - 1B)
M. Teixeira (Tex - 1B,3B)
A. Kearns (Cin - CF,RF)
E. Byrnes (Oak - LF,CF)
J. Dye (Oak - RF)

Free Agent pitchers:
B. Myers (Phi - SP)
J. Lackey (Ana - SP)
K. Ishii (LA - SP)
M. Hampton (Atl - SP)
T. Glavine (NYM - SP)
R. Harden (Oak - SP)
A. Burnett (Fla - SP)
T. Armas (Mon - SP)
J. LieberDL (NYY - SP)

I personally like Floyd, Ensberg, teixeira, Dye and Myers, harden and lieber. I just cant figure out what moves to make to improve this team. Any advice is a big help , Thanks.

I dont need to know who to start. I only need to know if you would drop anyone from my team to pick up any of the free agents that I listed.

Man, you gotta drop some of those pitchers. TWELVE PITCHERS?? 8-o When you've got Teix, Morgan Ensberg, and Austin Kearns (and IMHO Klesko), you gotta drop some of em. Klesko and Teix will both have dual eligibility this season @ 1b and OF (Teix also has 3b) making them very valuable.

I'd drop Clement and Nomo for Tex and Kearns....maybe package a closer and one of your young starters for an ace SP

Drop K.Rod for Tex, then try and package a couple of pitchers for a top tier hitter. Try and hold onto Nomo, as long as he pitches for the Dodgers he's gold.
