Beachy hits the DL, Who to drop? WHIR ALWAYS

Brandon Beachy hit the DL this morning, so now I need to decide on which of my DL players to drop, if any, so I can move Beachy to the DL and pick up another pitcher.

Should I drop Lance Berkman, Michael Pineda, or neither?

I picked up Pineda and stashed him on the DL when someone dropped him earlier this year. This is a keeper league and Pineda can be kept in the 17th round next year. So that's why I wanted to keep him. Lance Berkman could be kept in the 3rd round next year, which I likely wouldnt do. But I liked owning him just in case one of my other OF'ers or 1B get hurt later on in the year.

But I do think I need the extra pitching help, so I am going to have to drop someone most likely. I am leaning towards dropping Berkman because Pineda has such great keeper value.

What do y'all think though?

Only because it's a keeper league, I would drop Berkman. Pineda, I would assume, is going to be drafted in the single digit rounds next year. And pitching for the Evil Empire will certainly help him out quite a bit. I feel you on losing Beachy. I really wish my league had 2 DL slots.

I would drop Berk too. He isn't worth a 3rd round pick next year.

I just would not have a pitcher for the next couple of weeks. Thats the only reason for me not to stand pat. I guess I could wait a couple days though and just see what happens. I am in 2nd place so I am not really fighting for a playoff spot.

The Keeper situation makes Pineda more valuable than Berkman. However, I also would consider sitting pat for two weeks. You are in second and won't miss playoffs if you lose two weeks and your team is much better as is then with whatever scrub you pick up off the ww.

Again from a keeper perspective id say drop Berkman. Pinieda is just too valuable.

I would be dropping Berkman, then move Beachy to the DL and probably just use that extra roster spot to stream a pitcher until Beachy comes back.

And yes, Berkman would still be a 3rd round keeper next year. Even if he is added and dropped multiple times.
