Cliff Lee for Jim Johnson and Plouffe

Postby Waterhorse » Sat Jun 16, 2012 12:42 pm

Guy just offered me Lee for Johnson and Plouffe.

My SS are HanRam, Desmond, and Plouffe

Starting pickers Sale, Greinke, McDonald, Wainright, Burrnett

I can afford to lose Johnson but I don't think I want to give up Plouffe. I don't believe I'm doing it

Am I nuts? Please tell me

You are nuts. :-)

You don't need Plouffe and even if you had somewhat of a need you still make that deal.

What if I sent Johnson along with Quentin instead of Plouffe? Which is better?
How can I get rid of a guy who hits a HR every day?

OK, Plouffe is not going to continue to hit a HR every day, even though he has a lot of power. I would not be shocked to see him get to 25-30 HR this year if he plays everyday (he already has 13 though). However, that batting average is also pretty accurate, at low .200s (maybe, if everything breaksright, he hits .250-.260). Sell high.

Help with mine:

This is a no brainer, Cliff Lee is an ace, low ERA, good K rate, just the offense hasn't been there for him. Once the big bats come back, he should be back to getting a 15-17 win season. Plouffe isn't gonna keep this up

In response to the reply you posted in mine, how much do you suppose I could get for Hunter?

I'm fine with you doing either trade. There is no way Plouffe keeps up this pace, and unless the other owner has a huge man crush on Plouffe there is no way he would still do this deal a few weeks from now when he slows down.

Thanks for the help on mine. I agree with the consensus, you need to take this deal. IMO both Plouff and Quentin are flashes in the pan, and there is no doubt that Lee is the real deal. This is a great sell high.
