Potnetial trade WHIR

Postby baegames » Sat Jun 16, 2012 10:45 am

Looking to improve my AL ONly team at the fringes. I need Strikeouts. Another team needs saves, and has a 2b (Brian Roberts) currently starting at UT.

I was thinking of making the following offer:

Scott Downs -part time closer (note: 12 of the AL Team's 14 top setup men are owned in this league, so a part time closer has value, especially one with a silly low ERA except I have a solid lead in saves)
Andy Dirks - could be his UT when he returns (on my DL, so I do not need to release anyone)
Sean Rodriguez (if he wants him)

FOR

Gavin Floyd - Will he turn it around?
Gordon Beckham - he is a bum, but will be my bench player, replacing Rodriguez

It is around the edges. Am I offering too much? Not enough? From the feedback below, I think I will make this offer instead:

Downs and Dirks
for
Gavin Floyd.

I also thought about it, and the fact that SRod qualifies at 2b, 3b, and ss may make him more valuable for my bench. Not ore valuable starting, but more valuable if there is a nagging injury for which I replace a guy.

I don't think that's a bad offer but for me that wouldn't be enough. If he'll take it I think you win that deal

I don't have much research to back this up but Floyd is a hot mess. I'd rather keep a roster spot to stream starters in favorable matchups.

I dropped downs because Frieri is obviously the preferred close in LA. Beckham is wildly inconsistent. I play in a mixed league but I wouldn't consider either of those players.

Sorry, hope that helps somewhat.
