WHIR Cano and more blockbuster - srsly

So I'm considering two trades here:

Pedroia, Santana, Peavy, and C Quentin
for
Cano, Greinke, Josh Johnson, and Luke Scott. (would drop him)

OR

Pedroia and Gio
for
Cano and Greinke

Which of these trades would be better for me? I'm leaning towards the first, if he'll take it.

I like having Gio, and I think one of Santana and Peavy are liable to blow up moreso than him. Plus, he's in need of multiple pitchers since Feliz is currently his last pitcher in his order. And I don't really need Quentin, so. This would also free up space for Evan Longoria when he comes back from the DL next week (fingers crossed). What do you all think?

Note: Choo is actually the player I'd be getting instead of J Johnson in the original trade, but I already have a deal in place to swap him for Johnson immediately after the deal is completed, hence me putting him up there in the trade instead of Choo.

I'd go with the second trade laser show & gio for cano & grienke

I really like both trades for you. The first one is really solid for you, I personally think you're upgrading at 2B and slightly at two P spots (assuming Josh not Jim Johnson). My only concern is that it leaves you incredibly shallow in your lineup. That being said, I think I'd still go with the first one. In a 10 team league there should be plenty of OF talent floating around out there, but not very many Grienke's Cano's or Johnson's. If he doesn't go for it, I'd have no hesitation going with the second trade either though.

In actuality, I think trade 2 is safer, but trade 1 has a higher potential reward (given Johnson's ceiling, and Peavy's floor).

I agree that it looks like both trades would be winners for you. I think I'd go for the first one between the two as even though I think Santana is going to be pretty solid the rest of the way, I'm not so sure about Peavy. Greinke and JJ will be solid upgrades in my opinion. If Pedroia comes around then him and Cano may be about equal but as it stands now I'd much rather have Cano. The other two players involved are really just throw ins, so it definitely looks like a solid deal in your favor.

I like both trades for you too. The first one I like better because gio will probably be better thansantana and peavy the rest of the way. and pedroia is hurt and him and cano are usually the same as terms of points when uninjured.
