Quick and Easy; Cain/ARod?

Postby ensanimal » Wed Jun 13, 2012 10:54 pm

15 team keeper (keep 5, plus minor league rosters where we keep 4), roto. I'm in it to win it this year again. After some discussion we've got an offer that I am undecided about.

Wondering if this is enough back to give up some future. I could use the help in the OF. Would obviosuly be a hit to the staff, but I still have Price to anchor, with some other filler pieces.

I give: Matt Cain and Tyler Skaggs (minors)

I get: Arod, Rios, Ichiro, R. Soriano

If you're in it to win, take that deal and run. Who are your other SPs? Price is the key to your SP staff.

Cain is a nice SP to have but Skaggs is simply a prospect and unproven. There are always prospects that you can add to your roster every year. So essentially you're getting ARod, Rios, Ichiro, and R. Soriano for Matt Cain.

If you're in it to win it, I think it's not bad. I'm not a fan of Ichiro's game any more, but he's still solid. A-Rod will produce also. I just feel like Cain has such a bright future that I wouldn't give him up for that, although I feel with all the pieces you are improving in some ways for the rest of the year.

Overall I'm not a fan, but if you want to win now it might be worth a shot?

After Price, I also have Niese/Bass/Harrison (picked up for some spot starts). I've also got Holland/Fister on the DL that will hopefully be back soon.

My current OF is Cruz/BJ Upton/Quentin and then a rotating cast of characters. We start 5 OF. I've got David Murphy/Ploufe/Gwynn right now. Had been using Q. Berry.
