TRADE Greinke for Mccutchen Straight up (WILL HELP)

Postby BigLen22 » Mon Jun 11, 2012 1:33 pm

this is a 10x9 12 team keeper league
12 Team League-Keeper- 10x9(hitting/pitching stats)

I get :
Mccutchen(would be my 2nd round pick if kept)

I give
Greinke( would be his 2nd round pick if kept)

I know the value is pretty fair not sure whos really winning if either is, but with the team i have below do you think its a move i really need to make?

I feel i have a pretty good OF as is and i would be losing my best sp in greinke. Do i take it or pass?

lastly this league does keepers where if you take a guy in the 5th round next year he would be your 3rd round pick.

I think you'd have to, not only are you getting a significantly better player, you're getting a MUCH more valuable keeper, but you're going to want to turn around and fix your pitching as soon as you're done I think. Something like a Quentin/Santana for a CJ Wilson sort of move would really benefit you I think.

Man, I am incredibly biased so I'm probably not the best person to ask on this one. I am a HUGE fan of Stanton, the kid is unbelievably good...

They're probably dead even in my mind. Your team looks like it needs speed more than power, but if it was my team, I'd do it the hard way and I'd go for Stanton and then see if I could trade Bruce for a more rounded outfielder, JUpton or AGonz might be in his value range right now?

Id take cutch instantly over greinke and it makes sense for your team. Also id take cutch over stanton. Cutch is a 5 stat guy who is showing the power many thought he had. Im not sure he is a 30/30 guy but hes at least a 25/25 guys with good average. His RBI's are really going to depend on the top of the pirates order which can be pretty bad. Even with this i still take cutch over stanton. Stanton is really your classic 3 stat guy. Cutch could easily be a first round pick next year.
