Interesting offer.

Hitters:
Votto>Pence
Rios>Howard

Pitchers:
Hamels>Garza
Sale>Kennedy

I like the move for you from the hitting standpoint. Votto is a great addition and Rios can move into the outfield spot left by giving up Pence. You wouldn't need Howard with both Votto and Hosmer on your roster.
Obviously it's not so good for you from the pitching standpoint. Sale has been amazing and Hamels is Hamels. Sale does have some durability question marks though with the elbow tenderness and a potential IP cap (although if the Sox continue to contend I can't see them shutting him down entirely - more like managing his innings by skipping a start here and there).

In the end, I don't think I make that deal. You've got a nice line up as it is, especially with Hosmer coming around. It's tempting though to be able to get Votto.

Off the topic, if I were you I'd dump a couple of bench hitters and stock up on pitching a bit.

Thank you for your input acertijo. You are right, Votto is very tempting but in the end my pitching will suffer without Hamels and Sale (with or without IP cap).

I think I would do it.

I agree with acertijo assessment for the most part. The one thing that I concerns me about Sale is an injury. He was already shut down earlier in the year and I wouldn't be surprised if it popped up again. I also think Garza and Kennedy are pretty solid pitchers and wouldn't worry about the drop in production from Hamels to either of those guys.

So I take the deal. Love getting Votto and I think makes it a good deal for you.
