Trade Proposal WHIR post your link

I have a guy in my league which is a keeper that is trying to get rid of some of his high priced players. He has Cole Hamels, Jered Weaver, Hanley Ramirez, and Pedroia. He wants to get rid of all of them by the end of the year. My question is, would you trade Starlin Castro straight up for any of these players in a keeper league. I have Tulo And Dee gordon to hold down SS if i get rid of castro.

Yes I would trade him for any one of those guys. I would probably prefer Pedroia or Hanley and then Hamels and Weaver last only because of the recent injury.

I am going to assume that you probably aren't looking to keep any of these guys either but I expect that you have some ability to make a run at a title. If I am wrong on both accounts, then maybe I wouldn't do the trade but if either one of those assumptions are correct than you pull the trigger without question.

I'd trade him for either of the hitters you mention but I wouldn't trade him for the pitchers. I'm a pretty big believer in Castro, especially in a keeper format, and I am antsy about trading for pitching in that keeper format. Pitchers are just too uncertain in the long term for my tastes, although others would disagree and have a good argument. But I when I see what's happening with Lincecum and Halladay (just to name two current instances) I don't want to make the deal for Weaver or Hamels.

Pedroia and Hanley CAN be kept, they are just higher priced than Castro.
