6/9-6/10 Cheering, Venting, & Rainy Belmont/Interleague Wknd

News, Notes, & Nonsense:

- 'I'll Have Another' has been scratched from the Belmont Stakes today, retired, and put out to stud duty. We should all be so lucky. It's a rainy day in NY, so hopefully there's a horse whose mudder was a mudder today.

- Somehow, as an owner who almost never buys into prospect hype, I've managed to have on the same team this season: Hosmer, Jennings, Lawrie, and Moore. This is not the recipe for a winning team. Abort! Abort!

- Bryce Harper and went deep Friday night, while Mike Trout scored 3 Runs and swiped 2 bags. These two young kids are letting they nuts hang real low.

- Robinson Cano took Johan Santana out of the ballpark twice, the second of which was the first of 3 consecutive homers that Santana would allow. Good thing I benched his (Johan) ass.

- Shane Victorino collected 5 RBI, remaining one of the few bright spots in the Philly lineup this season.

- Matt Harrison pitched a CGSO in San Francisco, because apparently Clayton Richard is the only piece of trash Los Gigantes can knock around.

- Strasburg only lasted 6 innings, allowing 2 Runs... but of the 18 outs he recorded, 13 were via strikeout. Business as usual.

- C.J. Wilson marched into the fiery depths of Colorado and left on the winning end of 8 inning, 9 K, 1 run baseball. He has now allowed 2 ER or fewer in 6 consecutive starts.

You're welcome on the Johan advice, haha. Every time I bench a good pitcher he throws a shutout so I figured that's what was gonna happen. Any thoughts on Tommy Hanson vs the Jays tonight? I'm slightly over pace for innings in a roto league. If it was in Toronto with a DH I'd bench him for sure.

He's a decent margin favorite but Toronto still makes me a little ehh cause Hanson isn't a guy I trust. He could K 10 or give up 10 ER or both. It being in the NL park makes me like it more but I've always been of the ilk that I'm more angry when I start a lemon than when I sit a gem cause you can't get innings back but you can always have another opportunity to fill in those innings with other quality innings in a cap roto league.

Sitting Haren @ COL to preserve my ratios. Sending Sale vs. Houston, which means Sale will get roughed up and Haren will pitch a gem :-B

Alright I'm benching him. At least I have somebody to blame if he throws a gem.

That's a good core to have for a keeper league. In fact, I have those very four players in my 12-team keeper league and currently sitting second overall.

I'd start Hanson. The Jays have lost 7 consecutive games in Atlanta almost entirely due to an inability to hit there and the bottom of their lineup consists of Davis, Mathis, and Hutchison. It would surprise me if he didn't pitch well.
