You can see by my roster it has been a rough season. Studs aren't performing like studs. But it is next season that I would be making this deal for. I've already jettisoned a few vets and marginal closers.

You see the problem. I got lucky and hit on Middlebrooks, but could have three 3B for 2013 with no great option at 1B. I have tried to get the other owner to exchange picks and he is playing hardball, knowing the situation I am in. I hate getting older by 4.5 years and getting no picks back.

What would the Cafe say?

Yikes...Zimmerman and Tex are two guys who are highly overrated every year...I like Tex better though and for your team I think you need the first basemen more.

I would do the deal, but I don't know if it's a GREAT deal, just a decent deal.

I agree. Not a great deal but it is ok. If you are already looking ahead to next year then I think I would be looking to get guys that would be better keepers. I would rather go after Hosmer or Justin Upton both of who can be a top 10 player for years to come rather than a player already past his prime.

Yeah in this kind of a keeper league those guys are basically untouchable. I would have to give RZ, probably Lester and my 1st just to begin talking about Hosmer.

Now, the RZ stud version from 2010? I am sure I could move him for a 1B straight up. See, that is my issue, I HAVE to have a 1B...I am stuck and would rather not move Cabrera. So it comes down to moving RZ or Middlebrooks, and from the looks of things, I would rather have Middlebrooks.
