6/6 Cheering, Venting, and No Luck Lee

Postby thatguy27 » Wed Jun 06, 2012 6:21 pm

More to come, just wanted to get this going (my first time!)...

-I'll run the same poll that I started in a separate thread. Simple question: CarGo or Braun going forward?

-Poor Cliff Lee, and his owners, like me. Dude can't buy a win. When you go 10 scoreless innings and still don't get the win, something is very wrong. He's been one of the best pitchers in baseball this year and his record sits at a paltry 0-3, something you'd expect from an average middle reliever. In the few games when has got run support, it's come too late, or his bullpen has let him down. As for last night's game, I don't why he was sent out for the 8th when he'd already thrown over 100 pitches. It was his own undoing that caused that loss (although 2 runs through 7.2 is damn good). His bullpen would likely have let him down anyway.

-On the other side of the coin, I'm still trying to figure out why Zimmerman was pulled after only 82 pitches last night. He was cruising through 5. Sure, he gave up 2 solo HR's in the 6th, but methinks he had at least an inning or two left in the tank. Alas, his bullpen let him down

-Don't look now, but Paul Goldschmidt is heating up. He's raised his AVG almost 60 points since the middle of May, and his OPS over 200 points. Owners who've been patient with their late round investment are finally starting to see some of the returns they were hoping for.

-What to do with Justin Upton? I'll leave that one open, as i don't have a clue...

Brutal loss for the Mets last night :-t ...

I really enjoy watching Bumgarner pitch. He has good stuff, but what really impresses me is how well he knows how to pitch. He's only 22 yet he pitches like a veteran. He hits his spots and mixes up his stuff very well. I'll be tuned in to see how he does. I have him in one league. I'll also be rooting for JJ and Paulino tonight ;-D

Trotting Greinke with great expectations and rolling the dice on Clayton Richard at home against Los Gigantes...

Goes without saying, but crappy start for Richard. As a Bumgarner owner, I'm pleased ;-D

Left Capuano on the bench. After a stinker last week, I can't be certain the end is near for his dream run. If so, he can do it from my bench.

Rolling MadBum out there... Love that he's already got a 3 run lead. That should be plenty of run support for him to pick up the W @ at Petco (hopefully Quentin cools off for at least one night).

But how the hell did Denorfia just double to FIRST off of him? WTH?

He smoked it down the line....it should say, BY first base.

I wasn't expecting 3 ER total for the whole game for Clayton Richard at PETCO, but he gives up 3 ER in just the 1st inning.

Can someone confirm for me that Upton is once again on the bench? Or was that a false report?

Guess I jinxed MadBum...In his defense Guzman's triple probably should have been caught.
