This is not an advice question. I own neither player, nor am I looking to acquire either due to their hefty price tags. Just figured it would make for an interesting discussion. Going forward, which of these two very similar player would you prefer to own?
Braun: G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB K SB CS AVG OBP SLG OPS
There numbers are very similar, but the edge thus far has to go to CarGo who has 10 more RBi + Runs, higher AVG, SLG, and OPS. But, like I said, they are very close, and all it will take is one monster week from Braun for the edge to shift to him. Nearly identical K:BB numbers, slight edge for Braun in SB's though CarGo is flawless on the base paths whereas Braun has been caught 3 times. I think it's an incredibly interesting argument, and could go either way, but for my money I think I still have to take Braun, primarily due to CarGo having a more significant injury risk. That said, I do think CarGo, especially playing half his games at Coor's Field, has a higher upside.
Surprised to see so much support for Braun here. Not only has CarGo been performing better so far, but Braun's got a nagging Achilles injury. That kind of thing can have a real impact on steals.
Braun doesn't require playing at home to be good so I'd go with him. In theory he is in a better lineup too though the Brewers are all hurt or under-performing this year.

I would take Cargo, both from a fantasy and real life baseball perspective. Cargo is more athletic, has better range, a better arm, a higher offensive ceiling, and no PED concerns. He is also 2 years younger and figures to still be near his peak when Braun begins to decline.
