I have an empty roster spot so I don't have to drop anyone in the Pujols trade.

The guy in the 2nd trade is impatient so if you dont accept or decline quickly he pulls the offer.

What does the breakdown look like for the average team in your league in terms of pitching staffs? How many SPs and RPs does the average team roster? Is there an innings limit or a weekly starts limit?

No limits on innings or starts. Most teams are actually rostering fewer pitchers than me.

By the way, I got Pujols by trading Brandon Beachy for him when Pujols still only had 1 HR on the season, so I look at that trade as Kershaw and Freeman for Beachy in a way. The hold up for me is that I'm not sure Kipnis will be able to maintain his production all year. Is he worth giving up Cain for?

I agree. You are getting solid production out of Altuve and Infante at 2B. Hold onto Cain. I know its early, but he might be in the running for NL Cy Young before its all said and done. I see him having that type of year. You got Votto at 1B so you can afford to give up Pujols as crazy as that sounds. Plus Kershaw, Cain, Lee, Johnson, Garza would be a nice rotation to have.

I think you need to do both deals. Freddie Freeman will perform admirably in pujols' stead, and Kershaw is a stud. No need to worry about Cain as you'll have Kershaw in his place. The way I see it, you need to look at the trades as a whole.

Cain, Infante, and Pujols for
Kershaw, kipnis, and Freeman, with a great reliever with a chance to close.

I think you're getting the better end of the deal here.

Also, if you're that worried, you've shown you have no problem buying low; flip him for Kinsler and you might even get another piece with it at this point.
