Need Pitching - Drop One for Oswalt? WHIR!

Postby Cypher74 » Mon Jun 04, 2012 12:48 pm

My Yahoo H2H Points League with daily transaction has me at 3-6 and struggling. I've already had to drop Cory Luebke, and been disappointed in guys like Lester, Moore, Masterson, Bucholz and Holland. My pitching needs big time help. I can grab Oswalt off waivers, but who to drop?

Bucholz seems like he's finally figured it out, and Parker has been very good. I'm thinking Masterson. Am I right?

Leave a link, I WHIR!

Team -
C- Mauer
1B - Butler
2B - Craig
SS - Hanley
3B - Youkilis
OF - Harper, Cruz, Reddick, Francoer
UTIL (Play 2) - Quentin, Middlebrooks

SP - Lester, Moore, Holland, Hudson, Norris, Parker, Bucholz, Masterson
RP (Play 3 w/ Holds) - Reed, Broxton, Venters

I agree, I would drop Masterson and pick up Roy. While Masterson is younger, he has really regressed from last season. And if he gets back on track, if you are astute you should be able to pick him up again. Oswalt, on the other hand, is going to come back and pitch for an elite team and I think with the shortened season he will be great. If it helps, I'm about to pick Roy O. up in my league as well (he's still on the waiver wire).

Thanks for your help on mine. Since you replied I was actually offered another trade from a different owner that included Sale, Pence, and Lawrie for Braun. Could you help with this one too? Thanks!

Agree with the above statements, drop Masterson and pick up Oswalt, though I'd very much temper your expectations as to how well he will do. Thanks for the help with mine.

I would look to drop Masterson but who else is Available i dont think Oswalt will be effective at his age especially in Texas of all ballparks.

I would part with Masterson for Oswalt for sure. Even if Oswalt's lost some of his velocity, he's still going to get wins on the Rangers. I think you could cut Masterson and not really miss him one bit.
