Reality Check...1/3rd way through season....[Always WHIR]

Postby TruYankeeFan » Mon Jun 04, 2012 9:57 am

Hey guys....did a post here a couple weeks into the season when I was off to a blistering start. It was pretty much thought across the board that I was lucky and that it would not last....

Now 1/3rd of the way through the season I have been in 1st from day 1. I think it is beyond a lucky start or fluke...but the question from my old post remains....

Is my team really this good? I have a 7.5 game lead over the guy in 2nd.

C-Ruiz
1B-Prince
2B-Altuve
SS-Jeter
3B-Arod
OF-Reddick
OF-Melky Cabrera
OF-B Harper
UT-Cespedes
BN-Napoli, A Craig, Viciedo, Gardner(DL)

SP-Kershaw, Hamels, J McDonald, Shields, Dempster, Zambrano

RP -Chapman, Axford, League

Edit...dropped Schafer for Viciedo (schafer never started...and Viciedo has shown some impressive power and is trending upwards right now...Schafer is the exact opposite.

Whats the league like is it h2h, keeper... what?? In there are 12 or more teams its a great team, I dont know why Napoli is on the bench Package him.. Don't let him waste on your bench, he is a great bat a weak position.. See if you can turn him and Harpers name sake in to somone special.. Other then that its solid.

Help me??

My bad!

I know better than that.

12 team (non-keeper) yahoo H2H 5x5 with some non-traditional stat cat. We can change the lineups daily and can make up to 6 moves per week.

Scoring....
Offense...R, RBI, TB, OBP, netSB
Pitching...IP, K, SV, ERA, WHIP

I stick with what I said, trade Napoli and harper ... You may be able to get more then you think, if you get one top tier ofer your team will be legitimate for all year baring injuries...

I am one of those dreamers that Harper will continue to be an above average OF or better for the remainder of the year.

So I was thinking of something more like Napoli and Cespedes for Trout...does that approximate what you had in mind?

See on my squad I have both Trout and Harper as well.. I have a mild man crush on Trout, that being said I feel like there is more value in in Napoli, and I would use that value with someone who doesn't have a solid catcher.. If Trout is on his team it MAY work... But he is 20 and his line will come down from the 333 he is hitting now..

you think Hunter Pence is too much of a reach for Napoli and Cespedes?

That's hard to say, becuase I am so high on trout and harper its hard for me to say trade cepedeis.. I don't hate that trade, I would want a pitcher in it back I am not the biggest fan of 2 4 1's and I think you could get a middle tier starter.. so I would offer it and see if he comes back with anything... Fyi the fact your a Yankee fan.. makes this tough haha...

LMAO...but I am one of those rare old school fans.

Started watching in '85/''86 as a kid. My best friend was Mets fans...but I saw Mattingly play and decided that I liked him and the Yanks. Led to some real suffering for me until the mid 90's...but I just say I earned my spot as a fan. As opposed to these obnoxious kids who have only known winning and think it is their right. They better pray that Hal finds a little of his father in him when these new salary restrictions hit in 2014...or they are going to have to live with an even playing field for the first time in their lives.

That does help haha.. where I am there are zero cool Yankee fans, all of them think there ish don't stink.. And I don't know Hal has his work cut out for him, as does Cashmen.. but with being in NYC they will be successful or at least one NYC team will be.. They make too much money for MLB not to be..
