Daniel Bard chances of becoming a closer?!??

Postby TheGhost » Sun Jun 03, 2012 11:25 pm

Obviously Bard stinks as a starter and am curious if anyone thinks that he could become the Red Sox closer in the near future? I don't think the current closer is a long term answer and maybe the Red Sox brass give Bard a look? Thoughts??

Aceves is looking pretty good. Blew one a couple games ago but nothing that would put his job in jeapardy. Also Bard is the one who begged to be a starter. His bad start could be a conditioning issue. Obviously thats the concern with moving Bard to starter,,,,can he handle the innings? Id say the verdict is still out with his recent performance. Even if they decide he isnt meant for SP, id say there is very little chance Aceves needs to worry.

Short answer is very little chance. Injuries can change things but thats about it right now.
