Wow. I've heard some crazy comments from you, but this is up there. "Possibly the best catcher in fantasy baseball" I'll remember that one come september. I'll be shocked if he cracks the top 10. Sounds like a homer prediction, since he's done absolutely nothing to suggest he'll be better than Posada, Piazza, Varitek, Lopez, or any other top catcher for that matter. He has hit 2 HR in about half of a pro season, and batted 288. I guess it depends how loosely you define the term "possibly". I can say I could "possibly" win the lottery if I bought a ticket, but there isn't much of a point in me saying that.

well its official:
LB Jackal is a funny guy. lol.
I think we should show love for lecroy because he has 30hr potential as long as Justin Morneau doesn't get in his way of DHing duties. Bump him up on all of your lists.
Forget the man crush. I drop what I'm doing to watch Zack Greinke pitch.

You are kidding right? Maybe you meant the best of the guys on the list above?
There's no way I think he will be better than Posada/Pudge/Piazza/Lopez/Varitek just to name a few.

What exactly is it that Martinez does that makes him so great? He's not much of a power hitter at all - 1 HR in 159 ABs last year, just 7 in 286 AB in AAA. He doesn't run, and he hits toward the bottom of a weak lineup which won't help his R or RBI. BA is his strength but even then he only hit .288 last year.
It looks to me like his upside would be Jason Kendall minus the steals.
How's Castro? He hit 6 homers and scored .761 slugging.
Wilson is also doing incredibly well. He has 24 hits, 9 doubles which is impressive. I guess it comes down to a question "who will get more ABs?".
Wilson would be great if he could get playing time. Same with Castro. It's a tough call between them. Castro comes cheaper, and seems to be the Marlins' starting catcher, so I'd go with him. I don't think Wilson will get much PT with the OF pretty much set with Redman, Bay, and Mondesi, so I might lean towards Castro as long as he's not in jail.
So if Castro gets playing time over Redmond, he'd be a great option. If Wilson gets playing time over Redman, he'd be a great option.

Wilson will have a chance to earn permanent playing time at the start of the season, as he will be a full time player, at least until Bay comes off the DL. For those of you who drafted him, keep an eye out on the WW for the hot catcher, since when Bay comes back, Wilson may be relegated back to a part time role.
