if both are healthy the whole season, they will both have about 32-35 starts. However, if you give this many starts to Oswalt in a season, he will easily win 20 games and be in the running for the Cy Young. The only thing holding this guy back is injuries.

pettites era will rise from the 4.02 last year, and he won't win as many games even with the 4.02 because of less run support.

If he is the 4th best pitcher in that rotation, is he going to be pitching against other 4th string pitchers , or are teams gonna throw their aces against him??

Rotation spot means squat after the first week or two of the season. #1 starters do not only pitch against other #1's and #4's do not only pitch against other team's #4's. With off days and occasionally skipping a 5th starter, the matchups get all out of wack. As long as your guy is a #4 starter or better, he will get starts, but against every # pitcher, not just the ones of the same #.

Pettitte will be pitching half of his games in a small park. Half of his games will be everywhere else, and he should feel especially comfortable on the road in the larger stadiums. The small home park should affect his ERA at home more than his wins, (imagine the effect on the Dodger pitchers he faces who are used to the expansive parks).

Pettitte gets 16-18 wins, with a 4+ ERA at home.

I'd say 14-15 wins with a 4.35 ERA b/c he is going to a big-time hitters park, but is losing having to face the DH. So I don't see an astronomical rise in his ERA.
