I know he doesnt have the Yankees behind him, so how many W`s this season???...anybody???

I think 15 as a a low prediction....and 18 as a high prediction. He will have a good lineup behind him to give him run support, but he will also be pitching in a hitter friendly park.

You're kidding yourself if you think Pettitte is going to end up with 18 wins. He's the third, possibly the fourth best pitcher on that team. His ERA was never great to begin with, and should shoot up another run or so in the Juicer. I'd predict closer to 13-14 wins.

Andy Pettite was born to pitch at yankee stadium. Now that he is at the juice box, his numbers will decline. I am a huge pettite fan and appreciate everything he did in NY, but anything better than 15 wins and a 4.00 ERA is a little too optimistic for me

Righties will tee off against him, with that short porch in left. And he will no longer have the best run support in the majors. He's now on a team with the guy who had the worst run support luck in the majors (Tim Redding). I would expect a 4.50 ERA with 14 wins. If he's lucky. I'd be shocked to see him have a better ERA than that. His .273 career BAA (he's been fairly consistent at that over the years) will not fly in the Bandbox in Houston. Actually, it will. Right over the fence.

If he is the 4th best pitcher in that rotation, is he going to be pitching against other 4th string pitchers , or are teams gonna throw their aces against him??

manager won't put their aces against pettite even if they could. Pitchers need 4-5 days rest in between starts, so whoever faces him is a coincidence. Oswalt is a far superior pitcher to him anyway.
