I still dont see anything unprofessional, you dont say what is unprofessional and why, and the way I see it theres no issue here.
If you wanna see unprofessional umpiring, watch the Yankees @ Tigers. Villareal is pitching and with runner(s) on base, he never comes to a complete halt, so clearly trying to deceive the runner(s). It's a quick pitch which is a balk. Yet no umpire calls it. And I rarely see that called. And thats unprofessional.
I think that has more to do with incompetence than retribution. Neither are admirable though, obviously.

Yup, real deal, it seems. Too bad he won't have any run support, but he's a pretty good guy to have added as a freebie.

C Russell Martin will not be fined or suspended for criticizing umpire Laz Diaz after Wednesday night's win over the Angels in Anaheim. Martin said that after he complained about the strike zone early in the game, Diaz would not let him throw any new baseballs to the pitcher and that he had to "earn the right." (Yahoo! Sports)
this is BS. if the catcher/pitcher requests a new baseball, then shouldn't the umpire put a new ball in play.
He was putting them in play. He was just throwing them to the pitcher himself instead of letting Martin throw them back.
this makes me laugh. so the umpire would rather strain himself more by throwing the ball to the pitcher rather than simply handing a ball to the catcher who was right there.
I guess the White Sox aren't worried about Sale's elbow anymore.
yahoo can be frustrating when it comes to putting players on the DL. I think both Carlos Lee and Andy Dirks were put on the DL late morning/around lunch, but Dirks still doesn't have the DL where Lee has had the DL most of the afternoon.
