When is Bud Selig and MLB going to pull their heads out of the sand. It is a joke what goes on, year after year. Santana throws a fake no-hitter. Galarraga throws a perfect game, not. Plus the countless blown calls that cost ball games. This is so easy and fixable, there is no good debate. It is a joke, day in, day out.

Easy there Hoot. I agree there are a ton of issues that could be corrected and the removal of Bud would def. speed up/aid the process. But it is still a great game..I try really hard not to get caught up in the crap, and just love the game itself.
I second that!!! Baseball is so pure, one on one yet 9 on 9 and 9 on 1... Its the best game in the world if you ask me.. Bush league play will always be around, when we strech the rules one way or another.. SOMEONE GET THIS GUY A HOT DOG AND CRACKER JACKS, pretend your 7 again.. thats the beauty of baseball.. Its a kids game.. Sent from my PG06100 using Tapatalk 2

It's certainly not the NBA, so for that I'm thankful. Like Beltran said, that one hit wasn't going to impact the game at all. I'm all for using more replay, but I don't consider this to be the straw to break the camels back.
The problem with more replay is that it slows the game down even more for the casual fan, who doesn't really follow and understand the game, and needs constant action. Over 162 games some will go for you and some will go against you. I think more replay during the playoffs may not be a bad idea though.

If they could do replay without presenting television with yet another excuse to have twelve commercials, I'd be all for it. MLB's idea of replay is to have all four officials trail off down the tunnel to the nearest Best Buy store to watch the whole thing again instead of having a fifth official watch it immediately and radio the verdict to the chief umpire. It's ludicrous, same as the NFL version - it's just a way of shoehorning in another commercial break and lengthening the game, regardless of MLB / NFL protestations that they want to shorten games. College football has it right.

Is this really that much of a con? It's not like basketball which is much faster paced and then you're asking the crowd to sit on their hands for at least a few minutes. Trust me, most baseball fans, even the casual ones, don't need the constant action; otherwise, they'd never tune in.
I agree with having a fifth official make the determination. That's one of the argument right now in the NBA, that the extra ref should be viewing replays to expedite the process.
I'm all for more replay, but I don't think Santana's no hitter should have an asterisk. Unless someone wants to review all 275 no hitters in the history of the game and check for "errors", missed calls, infield singles that should have been errors, and so forth, then let it go. Not to mention reviewing the games pre-1900 is probably not likely.
