Absolutely not. Johan is looking for a redemption season, whereas Upton is just looking to improve some more. It's looking like he'll get the numbers that always keep him on pace for 20 homers and 40 steals, and that's worth far more than Johan. Aim much higher if you're in need of pitching.
This is a tough one. Upton is going to be hard to sell because everyone knows that he is a hot/cold type player and he is going to kill your avg. I think he repeats last years numbers but that avg won't be pretty.
I probably wouldn't do this deal but I don't hate it. If you don't really need Upton or he is killing you more then helping maybe I do this trade or maybe you add another player on both sides to even things up a bit more.

Really depends on the situation. If I'm stacked in hitting and desperately need a pitcher, BJ Upton is so polarizing, that aiming for a comeback guy like Johan might be your best bet. BJ's average is going to submarine you worse than most other players. Is the return worth it? 20 HRs and 35+ steals is very nice, yeah.

Well, taking that into consideration here's what I would do:
1). See if you can get ANY higher than Santana. Try to grab Ian Kennedy, Tim Lincecum since they're struggling. Try and get McDonald (maybe in their mind it'd be a sell high) or Anibal Sanchez even.
2). If you can't get any bites on those guys, there wouldn't be anything TERRIBLE about taking Johan. I just think you should fish around a bit more.
