Thought I bought him "low" a month ago. Still hasn't exactly paid dividends yet, but I'm not worrying too much. He's only had an ERA under 4.71 in April once out of the last 4 years, and same with May, only once under 4.91.
His last 3 June ERAs: 2.31, 2.62, 1.85. WHIPs: 1.00, 1.08, 0.85. If his ERA is above 4.00 for the month after 2 or 3 starts, then I'll start really worrying. He's the perfect buy low right now.

The Z-con and SwStr charts are disconcerting. Those are two stats I tend to look at a lot. His SIERA over those 4 years, unsurprisingly, shows the same pattern. At least it seems that it's within his control to return to last season's success if he starts using his cutter more often. I might buy low but I certaintly wouldn't expect to see 2009 or 2010 numbers out of him from here on out. He's simply not throwing as hard, and not missing as many bats.
Sooo...what are all the Jon Lester owners out there doing with him? Do we stick a fork in him? Hope he figures something out, just like we are hoping for Lincecum?

We have an article on him going up tomorrow morning that was submitted a few days ago. Really well-done by the author, who suggests selling low. I'd check it out if you own him in any leagues or are thinking about trading for him.

It's up, and no, I'm not the author. I don't own Lester anywhere, so I really hadn't paid much attention to him.
