Dealing with terrible trades?

Postby Sota12 » Thu May 31, 2012 9:26 pm

I'm in a 8 team league, and there are 3 first time managers, they are casual baseball fans and we just added them to round out the league.
Take a look at these trades that have been accepted so far this season:

Today:
Manager 1
Joey Votto
Maicer Izturis

for
Manager 2
Drew Smyly
Mike Aviles

Manager 3
Dustin Pedroia

for
Manager 4
Omar Infante
Kendrys Morales

Earlier in the season:
Manager 3
Carlos Gonzalez
Carlos Zambrano

for
Manager 2
Carl Crawford
Ricky Romero

Manager 3
Giancarlo Stanton
Maicer Izturis

for
Manager 4
Jayson Werth
Rafael Furcal

Manager 3
Jose Bautista

for
Manager 2
Mark Teixera
Neil Walker

Manager 3
Pablo Sandoval

for
Manager 4
AJ Pierzynski

Manager 3
Bryan LaHair

for
Manager 2
Ian Kinsler

I think it's time to quit the league, how about you?

I think maybe you're a little ticked off that Manager 3 has been able to repeatedly get the better of the other managers in your league. :-b

Look, you're probably playing with a bunch of chuckleheads who don't do their homework, but what did you expect? Personally, I wouldn't play in an 8-team league unless it was a knockaround league where I knew everyone personally and there wasn't anything but trash talk at stake. I know not everyone thinks that way, but I think it's hard to find a league that shallow where everyone's playing smart.

What would I do? Take advantage. Sell high and buy low at every opportunity.

I agree with the above poster. I am surprised there are any trades in an 8 team league. The free agents are pretty good since there are so many of them. An 8 team league does not make for a good league. Just make the best of it and try a 16 team league next year. It puts some challenge into the game.
