Cruz for Andrus? WHIR.

Postby pjtroy34 » Thu May 31, 2012 6:52 pm

12team, H2H weekly 6x6 roto; additional cats of BB-KO hitting, L, SV+HD.
Can keep 10 players, move up 2 rounds from the previous year.

I've been offered Andrus for Nellie straight up, but am thinking of countering with Cruz and either Lowrie or Peacock for Andrus and Allen Craig to help with the Cruz loss. Even when Cruz is hitting his strikeouts sway that category.

Keeper rule doesn't really apply here as neither Nelson or Andrus can be kept anymore.
Lowrie may make someone's top 10 if he continues, but I don't plan on keeping him right now.

Any thoughts? Worth it and try Peacock first right?

Lineup
C: Pierzynski
1B: Votto
2B: Pedroia
SS: Lowrie
3B: Lawrie
OF: Stanton
OF: Cruz
OF: Pence
OF: Willingham
DH: Hosmer

SP: Hamels
SP: Cueto
SP: Wainwright
SP: Garza
P: Myers
RP: Casilla
RP: Hanrahan

BN: Bonifacio
BN: Kendrys
BN: Hudson
BN: M. Moore
BN: Dickey
BN: Hultzen
BN: Peacock
BN: Storen

DL: VMart (have to be on DL60 to use DL slot)

I like Cruz and Peacock for Andrus and Craig a lot for you. If you have to give up Lowrie I still would do it as I like Andrus and trust him a lot more to produce than Cruz even though Cruz is good too. But I would make that offer with Peacock first and then trade Lowrie if you have to.

thanks for your help with mine

Yeah I agree with what the previous poster said. I'd go for the trade with Craig first, but I like the Cruz for Andrus straight up trade a lot for you too.

I like the trade on value, but I think you need to decide what OF replaces Cruz. I do not see one on your bench. That could be a big fall.

Do you not think Craig can hold it down for awhile until Bonifacio comes back? I agree it leaves a hole, but if I can piece it with those two or waiver wire guys like Quentin don't I come out ahead? He also has Boesch, Maybin, and Reimold, but they do little for me.

Well, then it is realistically Cruz and Lowrie for Andrus and Quentin (if he is best free agent), and I am not sure I make that deal. Quentin will go cold. Yes, if you can get Allen Craig, go for it, but I would pass without Craig.

I like that. Cruz will get hurt eventually. He has to. He does every year. Andrus is the much safer play in my opinion

So he countered back with the original deal of Cruz for Andrus...proceed?
Fowler, Wigginton, and Span are the best outfielders available.

Take the deal and rely on Andrus and one of those clowns until Bonifacio gets back or hold off with Lowrie and Cruz until Bonifacio comes back? Oh Boni...
