Cole Hamels for Adam Jones

Standard 5x5 12 team mix league, would you do this deal

I GET: Cole Hamels
I GIVE UP: Adam Jones

I desperately need starting pitching, and for 3 OF spots and 2 UT Spots I have BJ Upton, Adam Jones, McCutchen, Chris Young, Bryce Harper, plus Jacoby Ellsbury on the DL. I need SP really bad, but Jones/Votto have pretty much carried my offense.

Would you do this deal? WHIR just leave a link.

I think its a pretty good deal. Adam Jones has always been good but has never been THIS good. Cole Hamels on the other hand has the track record of an ace and it seems like your OF is pretty deep, especially when Ellsbury returns. If you need the pitching that bad then Cole Hamels is definitely the guy to get to help turn things around.

Jones is being aided by a 26.7% HR/FB rate right now. I'm guessing that the power dips slightly in the near future for him. I think that you could justify the swap value-wise. Depending on where I was in the standings though, I would more apt to take a chance & buy low on someone like Lincecum, Matt Moore or Josh Johnson & hold my stud OF'er. If you're competing and think that you can withstand the loss offensively I am fine with the deal. If you've struggled some this season taking a chance on an extreme buy low guy seems like a better idea, IMO.

I'm actually tied for first right now. I already have Matt Moore, and Lincecum has been traded a couple times already in this league...However I think the concept might be spot on.

I'm thinking about offering Chris Young for Roy Halladay, and hope he comes back in August as ROY HALLADAY!

hamels has been insanely good!

keeper league? keep jones

non keeper league? if you need the pitching i dont see much of a problem.
