Drop N. Walker for J. Weeks? ~WHIR~

Postby clarkdp2 » Wed May 30, 2012 5:22 pm

Jemile Weeks was just dropped in my 12 Team league. Should I drop N. Walker for J. Weeks?

FWIW I am 1st in RBIs and 7th in SBs so I figure I could handle losing N. Walker whose best stat is RBIs (although not this year only 17 RBI so far) for J. Weeks who looks like a 40 SB player.

Leave a Link and I will reply.

If you're desperate for steals, maybe do that. But I don't see Weeks getting on base enough to give him a ton of opportunities to steal. I like Walker's overall value more than Weeks.

I would go with Weeks ... just because you are 7th in steals. Walker might be a better all around option though.

Weeks is similar to Dee Gordon. They both showed they can hit their rookie year, but are struggling this year. They'll both still provide solid SB numbers, as well decent runs.

I'm a Pirates fan and I like Neil, but his numbers are way down this year. He'll continue to get good opportunities for RBIs because the Pirates have nobody better in the 4/5 spot, but he's barely hitting over .250.

Bottom line, given your need for SBs, and the fact that I think Weeks should start to get on base a little more, I'd go with Weeks.
