Was approached by another owner, and this offer was discussed.
I'd give Jones, Infante, and Lowrie for Kinsler, Beachy, Lincecum, and Fowler.
I've been doing very well lately, so I'm hesitant to make a move, but I'd like to get stronger at SP. I don't exactly expect Infante to keep it up, so this would be a nice upgrade at 2B in my opinion, and make my SP very strong (especially if Lincecum can start to get on track).
Of course, it's hard to trade Jones when he keeps hitting like this. I have other pieces I'm more open to move (like Heyward) to get a SP, so maybe that's my better option. And I'm getting McCarthy back soon, so maybe I don't really even need another SP?
C - AJ Ellis (LAD, C) 1B - Albert Pujols (LAA, 1B) 2B - Omar Infante (Mia, 2B) 3B - Kevin Youkilis (Bos, 1B/3B) SS - Jed Lowrie (Hou, 3B/SS) LF - Mike Trout (LAA, LF/CF/RF) CF - Andrew McCutchen (Pit, CF) RF - Dayan Viciedo (CWS, LF/RF) Util - Adam Jones (Bal, CF) BN - Jason Heyward (Atl, RF) BN - Dee Gordon (LAD, SS) BN - Kendrys Morales (LAA, 1B/RF) BN - Neil Walker (Pit, 2B) BN - Zack Cozart (Cin, SS)
SP - Felix Hernandez (Sea, SP) SP - David Price (TB, SP) SP - Dan Haren (LAA, SP) RP - Rafael Betancourt (Col, RP) RP - Frank Francisco (NYM, RP) P - James Russell (ChC, SP/RP) P - Tommy Hanson (Atl, SP) P - Colby Lewis (Tex, SP) P - Henderson Alvarez (Tor, SP) BN - Ubaldo Jimenez (Cle, SP) DL - Brandon McCarthy (Oak, SP) DL - Sergio Santos (Tor, RP) DL - Andrew Bailey (Bos, RP)
In my opinion, Kinsler will be every bit as good as Adam Jones from here on out (I think he will be good, but not THIS good), so I think these two are essentially a wash.
Fowler is essentially a throw-in who won't see the light of day on your roster, but will be somewhat useful if he's ever thrust into the spotlight. Probably just as good as Infante, but the guys you'll be inserting into your outfield will be BETTER than Infante.
Where you REALLY win is Beachy AND Lincecum for Jed Lowrie. Between the two, you'll have one absolute stud and one solid guy. Which will be which, I'm not entirely sure. But you can put your confidence in that assumption.
As I said, you absolutely win in this trade, no doubt in my mind. On an added note, if you can somehow trade off Viciedo for some stud on his team, I'd do that as well. He's still striking out a TON even during this hot streak, and I don't think there's any way this sustains.
I would absolutely do it. Adam Jones does this every year. It's just a matter of time before he cools down. He is a fast starter and an average to below average finisher
Thanks for your help. I think you should absolutely do this trade. Kinsler is a huge upgrade over Infante and you make a huge upgrade with your pitching. Adam Jones will have to come back to earth at some point. Great trade for you, selling high on Jones and buying low on Lincecum.
As for Hanson for Hanrahan I think you are fine at closer especially with Santos and Bailey eventually coming back from the DL.
With McCarthy coming off the DL soon, who do I drop?
I had planned to drop Cozart, but after trading Lowrie, that would leave Gordon as my only SS. Now that I have Kinsler, is Walker droppable? How about James Russell, who I just picked up? Give up on Jiminez?
And would a King Felix + Gordon for Hanley Ramirez offer be something I should send out? He's said he's looking for SP.
