12 Team H2H Points Redraft league. Is it worth giving up my Kinsler for Haren since I have Kelly Johnson on my bench, or should I be aiming higher? Thanks!
I think you shoul get a better pitcher than Haren for Kinsler. Look for owners weak at 2nd base and shoot for a top 10-15 pitcher. Haren is starting to round into form, but I would shoot for someone like Cliff Lee or King Felix.
Kinsler is far more valuable than Haren. Aim higher -- Kershaw or Verlander high. An elite second baseman is worth more than an elite pitcher, generally speaking.
Yes, aim higher and work your way down. Always a solid strategy when aiming for a certain position in a deal. I actually really like Haren, but you can do better. I'm thinking Cole Hamels? Good luck.
Does changing the trade to Kinsler and Butler for Haren and Adrian Gonzalez change anything? Keep in mind this is a points league. Elite pitchers appear to be more valuable given the league's scoring system. Kelly Johnson would also be a solid replacement.

If anything, this makes it an even worse deal for you. Kinsler > Haren and Butler > A-Gone. Butler has turned a corner this season and all those doubles are finally translating into homers. A-Gone, meanwhile, has lost his power stroke, possibly because of chronic shoulder issues. Butler is and will continue to be more valuable.
Kelly Johnson is no Kinsler.
I'd rather have Greinke than Haren, but I still think Kinsler should bring more. Kins was one of only four 30-30 players last season, and the only infielder (Kinsler, Kemp, Ellsbury and Braun). It was also his second 30-30 year. He slumps at times, but he's roto/points gold over the long haul.
