I don't agree with the, veto only if you suspect collusion. Some deals are just too lopsided. I know sometimes it's like you are saving the idiot making the bad trade, but it keeps the league balanced and fair. Personally, in any expensive league I'll veto anything that's not really fair if it's April. Like trading your 4th pick for someone's 15th two weeks after draft. After April, I treat a lot different and will veto if it' super lopsided AND I can't think of any reason for it by looking at the teams.
