I would disagree with dropping Schoop. He is a 20 year old that was promoted very aggressively by Baltimore to begin the year in AA. He still has a high ceiling a 2B/3B with good power and a good bat that is holding his own in AA by all accounts. I think this is a question of looking deeper than the actual results and remembering he is about 3-4 years younger than the average age of the competition he is playing against. I will guarantee you will regret dropping Schoop.
Personally I would consider dropping Wheeler. I know this is counter intuitive to the stats he put up last year (33 hr's/21 steals), but looking deeper he played in a very friendly ballpark in a hitter's league and was actually caught stealing 12 times so he was not all that effective as a base stealer. Most scouts see him as more of a platoon bat (think Seth Smith here) and there is value in that, but I don't see a difference maker here...even in Coors.
You could make a case for Mahtook as well due to the fact he is an advanced college bat not showing any power in High A posting a .284/.347/.364 line. If we look deeper we will see that he is showing a decent k rate and solid walk rate while stealing 10 bases in a tough league for hitters to show power. I believe Mahtook could be a 20hr/20 steal corner OF for Tampa Bay in a few seasons.
I think I would drop Wheeler first but could be swayed to drop Mahtook due to Wheeler's proximity to the majors. That being said my drop would not be Schoop.
