12-team, 5x5 (OBP instead of runs scored), $260, auction keeper. We can keep up to 7 players by adding $5 to current salary. There is NO BENCH and we get only 10 add/drops all season long (DL/ML replacements don't count). I have 7 remaining. It's wise to go into September with at least 4.
Roster:
C - Mike Napoli $13
C - JP Arencibia $1
1B - Justin Smoak $2
2B - Neil Walker $8
3B - Ryan Zimmerman $25
SS - Dee Gordon $6
UI - Pablo Sandoval (DL) $16
-------Will Middlebrooks (part time - $15)
UI - Lance Berkman (DL) $10
-------Mike Aviles (part time - $15)
OF - Matt Kemp $29
OF - Jason Heyward $15
OF - Bryce Harper $6
OF - Matt Holliday $26
OF - JD Martinez $15
OF - Justin Morneau $8 (DH Eligible players qualify as OF in this league)
P - Clayton Kershaw $21
P - Stephen Strasburg $12
P - Doug Fister $10
P - Mariano Rivera $12
-------Edwin Jackson (part time - $15)
P - Chris Carpenter $8
-------Lance Lynn (part time - $15)
P - Trevor Bauer $2
-------Chad Billingsley (part time - $15)
P - Shelby Miller $1
-------Jake Peavy (part time - $15)
P - Sergio Santos $10
-------Henry Rodriguez (part time - $15)
P - Addison Reed $15
Note: Part time players are players picked up (no add/drop charged) when a player goes to the DL. These players can be released when another player is activated w/o costing a waive move.
Here is the deal on the table ...
I Give:
Justin Morneau $8
Doug Fister $10
I Get:
Tim Lincecum $30
Jose Tabata $6
Being a Dodgers fan, I have a natural hatred for Timmay. Some metrics that stood out to me when looking over Lincecum were his 59.3 LOB%, 2.94 FIP (despite an ERA over 6.00) & his BABIP of 0.353 (!!). On the surface, it looks like a great buy low, but his LD% is up 5% over last season while his velocity is obviously down. I absolutely love Morneau this season & Fister really stabilizes my WHIP.
Thoughts?
