Being a Dodgers fan, I have a natural hatred for Timmay. Some metrics that stood out to me when looking over Lincecum were his 59.3 LOB%, 2.94 FIP (despite an ERA over 6.00) & his BABIP of 0.353 (!!). On the surface, it looks like a great buy low, but his LD% is up 5% over last season while his velocity is obviously down. I absolutely love Morneau this season & Fister really stabilizes my WHIP.

Thoughts?

The upside of Timmy, and the belief that I have that he's going to return to form sooner than later, along with the fragility of Morneau, makes this deal an easy accept for me.

I think I take the deal as well. I am not convinced that Lincecum is going to finish the season as a top 5 SP but he should be a top 15 SP. That in itself is worth the trade. Also could turn into a tradeable asset later on in the season.

I'm on the other side. Just can't buy Lincecum as he hasn't shown signs of regaining the velocity. He's either fallen off the wagon, having a anomaly type of year or will be found to have some sort of injury. Now I know pitchers have gotten buy throwing 90mph fastballs, but it takes time to adjust. You guys putting him in the top 15 based mostly on past experience is beyond brave.

damn 10 moves all year! that must be hard to deal with as im sure you miss a lot of good players because you dont wanna use one of your add/drops at the time.

You just have to refrain from grabbing the flavors of the week. The draft is important.
