Fair trade or not?

Postby BroknArrw » Fri May 25, 2012 6:39 am

Partial keeper league.

JP Arencibia and Kyle Seager for Brett Lawrie and Jaime Garcia.

Hitting is points basically 1 point per base, run scored, RBIs

Pitching is points per win/save and quality of starts.

Depending on team needs and depth, it is a fair trade.

Two catcher league? If so, makes it closer to fair. A one catcher league I would think Lawrie has much more value than Arencibia.
10 team? Garcia is not really rosterable, and Seager is borderline, so you have a good player and a borderline rosterable for a better player and a non-rosterable.

I would probably take the Lawrie side but I can see an owner being frustrated with him (I am a Lawrie owner in two leagues, and I traded him in a third).

Lawrie/Garcia side is way better. Arencibia hits HR but he is a cancerous Avg/SB guy and doesn't score many runs either. Seager is what he is, so if you want to be generous you could say he is equal to Lawrie, but Garcia is easily more valuable than JP, I don't care how many catchers you start.

Not really a fair trade. I wouldn't veto it (but I don't veto much if any trades) but I think it is bad enough that I would be watching these teams for any other funny business. Might even send an offer to the guy who dealt Lawrie and see if you can continue to steal from him.
