I am actually currently in 2nd place but as you can see my pitching is not strong and I want to add another ace.
Offered to me: Bourn + Joyce for CJ Wilson + Willingham + Cuddyer
I don't like giving up two solid bats and one being the top SB guy for anything less than a solid ace. SP don't have as much value considering they count for 4 stats vs 8 stats for a hitter.
Think this is a fair counter: Bourn + Joyce + Santos (I have no need for a 4th RP) for Weaver + Cuddyer
The guy dealing with me is in last and needs bats. This will leave me Heyward, Markakis, Trout, Stanton, Scott, Cuddyer and Morse when he's back as my OF options.
With that much depth on your bench all with guys who will produce about the same numbers I would rather hold onto bourn and try bundeling the rest of those guys up for solid pitchers such as cj wilson, lester, marcum etc - the 2nd/3rd tier catagory, just to start strengthening your staff.
That said if you can get that Weaver for bourn deal I would do it.
If he's willing to accept that trade, I would go for it. You've got plenty of guys on your bench that can produce so there shouldn't be much of a drop off, plus you're getting an ace in return. See what he thinks about it.
the only thing that takes a big hit is SB, but unless your face a guy that has a bourn or someone on his level i see you holding your own i do the deal.
I see Joyce and Willingham as even and in this year's draft (starting 11th rd) Wilson was in the 1st, Markakis 2nd and Santos 4th so I think it's a fair offer
