Stick with Valverde or dump him for... WHIR!

Postby Lenny6 » Mon May 21, 2012 6:43 pm

In a 12-team weekly fantasy points league, would you stick with Valverde (who could return for the next game), or dump him for on of:

Heath Bell
Rafael Soriano
Addison Reed
Alfredo Aceves
?

None of these closers are on solid footing, but which one of the five do you see as the best option for the rest of the season?

Thanks and leave a link for return help!

I think Aceves is likely to stay in the closer's role in Boston, and he's really only had two bad appearances. He's been good since 4/21, and with the Sox finally winning, he ought to get you a bunch of saves. I'd take Aceves over Valverde, despite Valverde's success last year--almost no closers are consistent, so past history doesn't carry a ton of weight with me.

I'd keep Valverde. He is the best of the bunch.
