I'm letting him loose in my league. As previously stated, if you don't let your pitchers go against the Padres, you may as well toss them to the curb.

As stated in a recent thread, Capuano, Strasburg and Haren are 0-3 against the Pads in the last two weeks. While normally you would be right, the lowly Padres have been a great source of consternation for me, as they have been perhaps the biggest reason why my large and high-powered pitching staff has needed a W on Sunday just to get past my opponents in that category the last two weeks.

lol. Marcum actually lost to them a few weeks back, too. So against pitchers owned in 95% of fantasy leagues, the Padres are 6-0 that I know of. Isn't that about half of their wins, so far? :-P

Josh Bell is up for Arizona, and regular starting 3B.
Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson said Monday that Josh Bell was promoted to start at third base.
In turn, Ryan Roberts will be shifted into a utility infield role. Bell was hitting .381/.429/.619 with four homers, 30 RBI and a 1.047 OPS in 112 plate appearances with Triple-A Reno, but he has an awful .200/.221/.264 batting line and a 78/6 K/BB over 226 plate appearances in the majors. He's worth a flier in NL-only leagues, but we don't think this arrangement will last very long.

Ryan Roberts to utility.
Ryan Roberts will be moved into a utility infield role following the promotion of Josh Bell from Triple-A Reno.
Color us surprised. Roberts got off to a very slow start, but he's hitting .321 (17-for-53) with a home run and eight RBI this month. He'll serve as a backup at third base for now and will also split time with Aaron Hill at second base. Bell hasn't proven that he can hit major league pitching, so we wouldn't be surprised if the Diamondbacks change course pretty quickly.

potential. but I wouldn't rush out and add Bell.

Glad I finally benched Mike Minor today. Extremely early, but already looking terrible.

Don't know what to make of Minor anymore. He's obviously a pitcher that is struggling, but his peripherals are all over the place. Obviously he's better than his current ERA/WHIP (7.09/1.45), but its impossible to tell if he should improve to being a quality SP or not. 3.82 xFIP, 3.67 SIERA, 8.43 K/9, 2.87 BB/9, 52 LOB%, however; 4.39 FIP, .336 BABIP (career .353), 5.27 tERA. Don't know what stats to believe. !+)

EDIT: This guy has serious long ball issues. 4 HR given up already today, including 1 to the pitcher.

Just realized my opponent has both Yu and Felix. Please let that game have 20+ Total Runs before the 6th...
