12 team, H2H, points league, keeper(6 per year),pitching and hitting pretty fairly even in the way points are based. I am getting killed so far at 1-5 in the league and the guy who wants to trade with me is 4-2. Check out our rosters.
I have been offered Howard Kendrick(or Jose Altuve) and Yovani Gallardo for my Joe Nathan and Ian Kinsler. I could use another stud starter but not sure if this is enough for Kinsler? What do you guys think?
I would want more than Gallardo as well, but I do think he'll pick it up...he's traditionally a slow starter if you are feeling risky. No way do I do the Kinsler/Gallardo 1-for-1 someone earlier suggested. The only thing that got me considering this deal was the closer for Kendrick aspect. Closers this year are doomed.
I don't think it is as bad as others do...you are 1-5...I guess what have you got to lose...I'm a gambler sometimes and this may be a move that make or breaks a team. Not exactly an answer, but some stuff to think about.
First glance I thought no way, but Howie is pretty good. I'd still want a better SP than Gallardo if I'm moving Kinsler. Maybe try and get him to throw in Wainwright Lind or Tabata. Otherwise I think I'd pass.
Ya know, while I think Kinsler is the best player in this deal, I do think Gallardo and Kendrick will have strong finishes. Kendrick is in a pretty mean slump lately, and Gallardo has been inconsistent, but I think BOTH of their post all-star break numbers will be right in line with their career averages or better. It would be unfortunate to lose Kinsler, but if you need a stud starting pitcher I truly think Gallardo will be that guy.
I might try and see if I can get a little more, and I'm not so sure you need to give Nathan in this deal. Try and use the start that Gallardo has gotten off to as ammo and counter with a Kinsler for Gallardo and Kendrick.... No Nathan included.

I like this approach. Kinsler is clearly the best player.
