Get James Mcdonald and drop Ivan Nova?

I would rather have Nova. McDonald goes through these periods of being pretty good and then he falls back to earth. Nova is pitching better than last year just his ERA is higher than you would expect.

nova definitely plays for a much better team given pirates have scored the fewest run in the majors. but i've been riding the mcdonald streak a few weeks and it has been wonderful. great k/bb and k/9. i am biased obviously, but i'd ride out this mcdonald hot streak or, i hope, breakout.

Didn't Nova hurt his ankle recently?

Anyway, if it's a shallower league then I'd make the change and ride McDonald's hot streak. Be quick about changing back if he struggles though.
