"Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine said whenever David Ortiz plays first base while Boston is in a National League ballpark, Gonzalez will likely move to the outfield, the Boston Herald reports.
Recommendation: Gonzalez owners may want to stay extra vigilant just in case Valentine opts to give his regular first baseman a day off instead of having him play right field. Ortiz is expected to start at least one of the game this weekend against Philadelphia."
They have 9 games in NL Parks...what are the chances that Ortiz starts 5 at 1B and AGon 5 in the OF?
effn Craig. just when I thought I had solved my 2b black hole issues.
in my H2H i have a huge lead in era and whip, up by 9 K's, and we each have 4 more starts this week. so I need to bench one of these: Lee @ Boston Hanson @ TB Lester @ Philly Morrow v Mets Gallardo v Minn Im leaning towards benching Hanson just because he starts today and the others on sat/sun, so I can sit/start them depending on my opponents outcomes... thoughts?
Samardzija just hit Konerko in the face. Sounded like it hit him in the face and the lip of the helmet at about the same time, I could hear both a slap of the skin and the plastic pop of the helmet. Konerko was down for a minute, then walked off the field with a towel covering the left side of his face. Not sure how bad he's hurt. Fingers crossed.

Yeah. This sucks. It looked like it got him pretty good just above the eye. Hopefully, there is no concussion or eye issues and he's back tomorrow.

That's a tough one. I'd say Morrow, because Gallardo's ERA has been massively blown up by the Cards, a team that has owned him since the beginning of time (2.xx ERA against everybody else so far). The first three are autostarts IMHO.

Morrow had a rough start last time but all the damage came in one inning after a couple defensive mistakes/errors. Hanson has been pretty hitable al sesson and has walked too many batters... man this one is not easy
